What's the language?
In Uzbekistan, English is not widely spoken, even in hotels, restaurants, and popular tourist areas.
However, the Uzbek people are incredibly friendly and resourceful, many locals rely on Google Translate or other translation apps to communicate.
It’s always helpful to learn a few basic phrases in Uzbek or Russian, as Russian is commonly spoken.
Is Uzbekistan safe?
Uzbekistan has exceptionally low crime rates, and the government has made significant efforts to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for tourists. As a result, it is considered one of the safest travel destinations in Asia.

Uzbekistan uses two types of power plugs: the two round-pin plug (Type C), commonly found in Europe, and the three flat-pronged plug (Type I).
Do I need a Visa?
More than 60 nationalities qualify for visa-free travel and most eligible travelers can stay in Uzbekistan for up to a month.
Countries covered by the scheme include the UK, EU countries, Turkey, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Israel and most Latin American countries.
Note that all visitors to Uzbekistan should have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in Uzbekistan.
Citizens of around 70 countries that are not covered by the visa-free travel scheme can apply for an e-visa online.

Best Time to Visit Uzbekistan
The best time to visit Uzbekistan is during spring (April to May) and autumn (September to early November) , when temperatures are generally warm and dry.
In Spring, temperatures range from around 21°C to 30°C, bringing blooming landscapes and comfortable travel conditions.
Autumn offers similarly pleasant weather, with temperatures varying between 14°C and 30°C, along with golden-hued foliage
The periods to avoid are summer, with extreme heat, as it can exceed 40°C, and the harsh winter cold.
How to get around
To get around Uzbekistan , you can either rent a car and drive or use public transport.
We do suggest you use public transport.
Drive:
Driving can be unpredictable, sometimes drivers ignore traffic rules, especially at intersections.
Watch for sudden lane changes, pedestrians, cyclists, and animals.
Cities have good roads, but rural areas often have potholes.
Public transport:
Public transport is the best option for getting around in Uzbekistan, as the country has an efficient and affordable high-speed train network connecting major cities.
Distances between cities are long, so driving would require covering extensive stretches of road.
